INTRODUCTION
Kendriya Vidyalaya, INS Shivaji Lonavla was established in 1963 as a Defence Sector School. The Vidyalaya is encompassed in a lush green campus of 14.5 Acres . The Vidyalaya is situated in the picturesque surroundings of INS Shivaji Naval Base which is about 8 km away from Lonavla Railway Station, Surrounded by exuberant environment and pleasant climate. Good environment is essential for imparting good education, and we are fortunate enough that we are blessed with beautiful nature. Kendriya Vidyalaya Lonavla is enriched with a soothing atmosphere and clad with frequent and fragrant rains.
The building is old but model is gold. Ours is a full fledged Senior Secondary School from STD I to XII (Science & Commerce) and is affiliate to CBSE, Delhi. The medium of the instruction is bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.
The instruction is headed by an experienced & dynamics Principal with a team of qualified & dedicated teaching & non-teaching Staff for the overall development of the students and the Vidyalaya.
Our major focus has always been on the overall and holistic development of the child. The Vidyalaya provides opportunities to cater to many competing interests. It is being increasingly conceived that the school is no longer a place for acquisition of facts and information. It must now include a comprehensive programme for the physical, mental, moral, emotional, social and spiritual growth of children acquired through the interaction with the total environment. It is for this understanding that there is more `intimate home, school, community co-ordination’ maintained in K.V. Lonavla. Individuals are not alike in natural endowment and the mind is not Tabula Rasa- a clean slate upon which anything might be written.
There are differences in innate abilities and in potentialities. To cater to such diverse interests, varied Scholastic and Co-scholastic activities are conducted and joyful Teaching - Learning is adapted to the taste and talents of the learner in K V LONAVLA.
